A tiger sits in his cage on the field before 91วัืำโ€™s game with Alabama on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Re: โ€œJeff Landry sounds off on his role in 91วัืำ sports, hiring Lane Kiffin: โ€˜I do not like to lose,โ€™โ€ Nov. 2.

First of all, Gov. Landry calling anyone a โ€œbigmouthโ€ is crossing way over the line of being hypocritical. Besides that, his nose seems much larger because he has weighed in on many things he knows very little about, like trying to persuade Greenland to be annexed to the United States.

Thatโ€™s why I found it interesting that he would question 91วัืำ veterinarians about which animals can be used for mascots. To answer Landryโ€™s question, all it takes is a little education and some common sense. Bison and cows keep their head down most of the time, eating grass. A domesticated dog eats pet food and can easily be led around with a leash. But a tiger sees every living creature as either food or a threat to its life and will attack anytime without warning.

For Landry to think all animals have the same nature, or as he calls it, feelings, is ridiculously wrong. He should try to keep his focus on something he knows a little bit more about, like the law, and I am not convinced he is up to par on that.
