A Lafayette man allegedly pistol-whipped an 91ÇÑ×Ó student in the Business Education Complex in early October after following him from the victim’s apartment, police said.
Corey Willis, 24, is wanted by Baton Rouge police for aggravated second-degree battery and carrying a firearm on campus.
On Oct. 7, 91ÇÑ×Ó police responded to the business school at 501 S. Quad Drive about 3:40 p.m. after a report that a student had suffered a deep cut on his face in a fight.
The victim told police that Willis had followed him from his on-campus apartment to the business school where a fight started inside the building, police documents said. Willis pulled out a handgun, which the victim was able to remove the bullets from before Willis took control of it again and beat him with it, police said.
A witness heard the fight and saw the hallway walls and floor covered with blood. Video surveillance shows Willis picked up a bullet before he fled the scene.
During the investigation, the victim told police that he FaceTimed his aunt while walking to the business school. The aunt recorded the victim being punched on video because she realized something was going wrong, the arrest warrant said.
The victim told police that he did not know Willis but had seen him harassing women in the past at the Ion Apartment complex near campus.
