Jason Partin, no party, is running for Zachary Community School Board District 4.
He said, “Zachary is my home. I was born 47 years ago at Lane where my mother, Jeanne Partin, worked as a nurse. My late father, Joe Partin, taught, coached, and was principal at Zachary High.
“I started kindergarten at Northwestern Elementary and proudly graduated from ZHS in 1997 having played on every ball team available to me. ZHS honored me by adding my name to its athletic hall of fame,” Partin said.
Partin and his wife, Amanda Weilbaecher, live in Zachary and work as physical therapists. They have three children: Miles, a senior at Zachary High; Owen, in 10th grade; and Stella, at Copper Mill.
“When the founders of ZCSD drew up the geographical boundaries of our new system, they included every child who would have gone to a school located in the city of Zachary as part of the EBR system,” Partin said. “We didn’t create a city system, we created a COMMUNITY system. The vote to create ZCSD was compelling and enthusiasm was overwhelming. Everyone showed up to paint, clean and move furniture to be able to begin operating schools in the Fall of 2003. I want to find that level of pride and enthusiasm again.”
Partin said his competitiveness means “Excellence Lives Here” and “It’s All About the Z” mean something to him. The heart I have for this community and its most important asset, its schools, impels me to do my part to keep us the best system in the state.”
“I promise to show up and participate in every meeting, to listen, question and search for solutions to our problems and to steward our resources for their best use,” Partin said.
““I want to ensure that we have the best available teachers and leadership with all they need to do their best work,” he added. “We need to keep our kids in school to finish their education to provide each of them with the means for a successful life. And we need to maintain schools and facilities for our kids that makes them and all of us proud and competitive. Like you, I want nothing short of the best for my kids and I want nothing less than the best for your kids.”
